UPDATE @ 10:31 p.m. (Dec. 10): It could be several weeks before a determination can be made regarding how a Washington Twp. man died in his residence during the weekend, Montgomery County Coroner's investigators said Monday.

The coroner’s office is conducting tests on the body of 38-year-old Chad Walker and it could be at least a month or more before the cause of death is known. No preliminary finding was made.

“The cause of death is pending right now,” a spokeswoman for the coroner’s office said Monday.

Jan Walker, who called 911 Saturday just before noon after finding her son on the basement floor of a home in the 1500 block of Chartwell Drive, told dispatchers she thought he fell and hit his head.

“My son is dead, I just found him in my basement and I don’t know what happened. There is blood everywhere. I don’t know what happened,” she said during the 911 call.

“He’s gone and I don’t know when this happened. He lives in my basement, and I didn’t talk to him this morning. I honestly don’t know what happened.”

She told the 911 dispatcher that she last talked to her son Friday night, and he had previously indicated to her that he had a problem with alcohol and could be diabetic.

Chad Walker had moved home from Chicago in the last two months, according to his mother, after he had worked as a bike courier.

Deputies are investigating a reported death in Washington Twp. Saturday.
