No other pipe bombs were found on the property, the sheriff’s office said in a prepared statement.

Chrissy Davis, who lives across the street, said the resident, who died Saturday, liked to blow up tree stumps.

"[The family members] probably found one of his little tree-stump removal devices, something small and insignificant that he had tucked away ... probably took them by surprise," she said.

No one was injured, according to the statement from the sheriff’s office.
