HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A man is in the hospital after he was shot in Harrison Township Friday afternoon, Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck told News Center 7′s John Bedell.
As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, an argument between two men led to the shooting near an auto service shop.

Around 11:20 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and medics were dispatched to 3311 North Dixie Drive on reports of a shooting.
The sheriff’s office response caught the attention of many community members.
“We were trying to find out what was going on there. So, I don’t know what the deal was,” Harrison Township resident John Borid said.
“When there was a flood of police cars, I knew something significant had happened,” Dayton resident Pamela Shackelford said.
Streck said a 40-year-old man and a 70-year-old man were in the same car and arguing.
The argument got intense, so they pulled over into the parking lot of Craig’s Transmission & Auto Service.
Streck said the men got out of the vehicle and things turned physical. The 70-year-old man then shot the 40-year-old man.
A bystander called 911 and said they “heard a big ‘pow,’” then saw “a handgun in his hand.”

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a 40-year-old man who had been shot in the torso area and leg.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital with what deputies believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.
“I just saw them arresting someone and someone getting in a stretcher,” Shackelford said.
Deputies also located the suspect and took him into custody. His identity was not immediately available.
“They found an individual that clearly admitted he had the firearm. They gave him orders, took him into custody with no issue,” Streck said.
Initial charges for the suspect were not immediately available, but Streck said depending on what the deputies find, he could face charges ranging from felonious assault to attempted murder.
“If you’re in a car with a person and y’all get mad enough to fight and shoot, it’s not good. You’re certainly not friends,” Shackelford said.
This shooting is still under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
