Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 2:10 p.m. to the intersection of Webster Street and Needmore Road on initial reports of shots fired, according to dispatchers.
News Center 7′s Malik Patterson reports it took just moments for a heated argument to end up with a man dead, deputies told him.
“It sounds like maybe one of the cars, and again I don’t know which one, was cutting in and out of traffic [and] somebody didn’t like that, that took place,” said Major Jeremy Roy, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. “Sounds like some words were exchanged at the intersection previous to this one, which would have been Wagner Ford and Needmore and then again, stuck at the light again at Needmore and Webster where the actual incident took place.”

Patterson said the man did have a woman with her in the car and medics transported her to the hospital.
Roy said she was not hurt.
“She is extremely shaken up, and visibly upset so we are trying to get her calmed down at the hospital, so she can talk to our detectives,” he said Sunday. “We had a couple of folks there at the scene and we are also canvassing the area for any businesses and traffic cameras in the area and we’ll start utilizing them.”

Deputies say no one is in custody yet.
“Something like this is extremely tragic, I understand people get upset in traffic, people cut you off, especially if you have kids in the car or other things. This is what it came down to,” said Roy. “I don’t care who you are, what background you come from, or where you’ve been. It is not worth somebody’s life over traffic.”
