Burnett had an active warrant for his arrest in connection to the Jan. 23 robbery at a Cricket Wireless cellphone store on West Siebenthaler Avenue. He was arrested at the same house on Hancock Avenue nearly a month after deputies first received tips people connected to the robbery might be at the house.

“Thanks to a helpful tip from a citizen, our team was able to locate Burnett and bring him into custody,” Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck said in a media release.

“We are always grateful for the public’s help and encourage citizens to come forward if they ever have any tips that might help keep our community safe.”

Burnett has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and possessing criminal tools, according to jail records.

In the initial hours after the Jan. 23 robbery, deputies said the robbers appeared “to be experienced in this type of activity,” according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Capt. David Parin.

“It was a much more methodical and lengthy incident” than deputies are used to seeing in cellphone store robberies, Parin said. “They are not the typical individuals that we’ve experienced doing this before.”

On Jan. 24, an investigation connected to the robbery at the Hancock Avenue house resulted with one man arrested following a scuffle with deputies.

Henry Harris, 29, was charged with obstructing and resisting arrest, but wasn’t initially charged with anything connected to the robbery.

We’re working to learn more about the arrest and case and we’ll update this page as we learn more.
