Deputies, state troopers to look for stop sign violations in Mercer Co. this week

MERCER COUNTY — Deputies and state troopers will crack down on those who run stop signs in Mercer County this week.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct the traffic detail on May 1-3, according to a media release.

With the help of OSP’s aviation unit, the detail will also be looking for violators from above.

“Though deputies have stepped up extra patrol in the high complaint and traffic crash areas, the Sheriff’s Office continues to receive complaints of traffic violations occurring throughout Mercer County,” the sheriff’s office said in a media release.

The specific roadways that will be patrolled were not included in the release.

Drivers are encouraged to limit distractions within their vehicles and focus on the road.
