‘Devious licks’ TikTok challenge has 3 students facing discipline at Bellefontaine Middle School

BELLEFONTAINE — The ‘devious licks’ viral TikTok challenge has three students at Bellefontaine Middle School facing discipline and possible criminal charges, according to a Bellefontaine police report.

School districts across the country have reported a popular challenge, known either as “The Bathroom Challenge” or “The Devious Lick Challenge” that’s gained popularity mainly through TikTok in recent days.

The challenge involves people destroying or stealing things from school bathrooms, like sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers, among others.

Bellefontaine police responded to the middle school on Thursday around 2 p.m. after soap dispensers and a water sensor on a sink were damaged, according to the report.

“I immediately responded and located items damaged in the boys restroom in the main hallway,” an officer wrote in the report. “Three known students were identified and found that they were connecting to the recent social media Tik-Tok challenge of vandalizing school property.”

According to the incident report, felony vandalism charges are possible for the three kids, whose ages range from 11 to 12.

The students also were disciplined within the school, according to the report.
