DeWine delays four executions scheduled for 2022

Gov. Mike DeWine is delaying the executions of four men on death row.

The announcement of the reprieves, made Friday, was caused by “ongoing problems involving the willingness of pharmaceutical suppliers to provide drugs to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, pursuant to DRC protocol, without endangering other Ohioans.”

Four scheduled executions have been pushed from 2022 to 2025:

• Warren K. Henness, who was scheduled to be executed on January 12, 2022. The new date of execution has been moved to December 17, 2024.
• Stanley T. Adams, who was scheduled to be executed on February 16, 2022. The new date of execution has been moved to February 19, 2025.
• John E. Drummond, who was scheduled to be executed on April 21, 2022. The new date of execution has been moved to April 16, 2025.
• James G. Hanna, who was scheduled to be executed on May 18, 2022. The new date of execution has been moved to May 14, 2025.
