COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine said Ohio will see more orders come from his office this week during an interview on Meet the Press Sunday morning.

“While we did a great job early on in Ohio, we are headed in the wrong direction and frankly I’m very very concerned about that,” he said.

Anticipating that a number of counties may turn red and become very high risk areas, DeWine said Ohio may see a lot more counties under a mask mandate this week.

Ohio is certainly not ruling out going statewide with a mask mandate, he continued.

New ad campaigns are coming out this week pushing the use of masks.

“We are at a crucial point,” DeWine said.

Ohio reportedly doubled testing in the last five weeks, but the governor thinks the state needs to double again.

“We’re going to continue to need money for testing. We can only do that with money from the federal government.”
