HARRISON TWP. — A mistake in measurements led to a dispute at a Montgomery County polling place on Tuesday.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were called out to a polling place on Turner Road in Harrison Twp. on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said they responded for a “small dispute in line.”

News Center 7 reached out to the Montgomery County Board of Elections and learned that the polling place deputies responded to had a misdrawn “Neutral Zone” line.

The “Neutral Zone” line is a 100-foot boundary from the door of a polling place. No one is allowed to “loiter, congregate or engage in any kind of election campaigning” within that 100-foot boundary, according to the Ohio Revised Code.

No one was cited at the incident in Harrison Twp., the Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

The line at the polling place has since been corrected.

Polls in Ohio will be open until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
