BEAVERCREEK — A family dog is back home and safe after being found this morning in the Beavercreek area, the family told News Center 7.

“We are so, so grateful,” said Debbi Williamson. “I’m still kind of in shock.”

Lilly, a mostly black Labrador retriever mix, had been missing since last Tuesday after the wrong family picked her up from a Greene County boarding facility and she got away from that family.

“She’s a rescue dog from Atlanta, Georgia. She was probably the best dog I’ve ever had,” Debbi’s daughter Lauren told News Center 7’s Monica Castro.

Debbi Williamson told News Center 7 the family got a call from Francis Kennels this morning informing them Lilly was found after volunteers from Lost Pet Recovery and Lost Male Pitbull set up traps in the area where Lilly had been seen.

“I’m very, very thankful for those two companies,” she said.

Williamson said they plan on letting Lilly rest today and will have her checked out at the veterinarian in the coming days.

She wants to thank the community and the numerous people who reached out to help find Lilly.
