DAYTON — Firefighters rescued a dog during a home fire in Dayton Saturday.

Dayton fire crews were called to a fire alarm at a home in the 700 block of Dennison Avenue around 5:20 p.m., according to the Dayton Fire Department.
Crews were on the scene within minutes and found fire on the first floor of a two-story home.

After searching the home, firefighters found a dog and got them out safely.
The fire was accidental and caused by items being ignited on the kitchen stove, the fire department said.
Damages were estimated at $6,500.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the people who live in the home.
