Donations have been pouring in to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, which has been reaching out with pet supplies help the furry friends of those struggling after the tornadoes.
“The camaraderie and love that our community has shown is so inspiring,” said Brian Weltge, president and CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “We are honored and privileged to be able to help our neighbors and community. There are so many doing so much for families and as a fixture to this community the Humane Society of Greater Dayton is so proud to get out and directly help those facing so much devastation.”
The humane society is accepting donations of pet supplies to help storm victims, and are in need of:
- Dry and Canned Cat and Dog Food
- Crates/Carriers
- Water
- Non-clumping kitty litter
- Beds
- Pet bowls and dishes
- Litter boxes
- Large plastic tote containers
- KMR (Kitten Meal Replacement) formula (both canned or powder)
- Miracle nipples (for newborn kittens)
Items can be dropped off to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton’s main shelter, 1661 Nicholas Road in Dayton:
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays (we are not open to the public but will have staff on site to help accept donations)
- 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays
- noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays
Do not leave donations outside of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton’s main shelter. Due to rain and other weather, these donations could get ruined before a staff member can claim them.
