Driver crashes vehicle in Riverside, then flees from officers

RIVERSIDE — A driver crashed their car in Riverside then fled the scene late Tuesday morning.

Riverside police and fire were dispatched to the intersection of Harshman Road and Valley Pike at around 11:55 a.m. on reports of a crash, Huber Heights Dispatch—who also dispatches for Riverside—confirmed to News Center 7.

When officers arrived, they found a single-vehicle crash with its driver fleeing the scene, heading east on Valley Pike towards Eastwood Auto Wash, dispatchers said.

The driver reportedly got into another car near the business and drove off, according to crews at the scene over emergency scanners. Officers stated that another person appeared to be inside the getaway vehicle, but did not know if they knew each other.

It is unknown if the driver suffered any injuries following the crash.
