Driver ID’d in fatal Shelby County crash

Alcohol and speed are considered factors in a single-vehicle crash that killed 46-year-old Kristi M. Clark, of Sidney, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and rescue personnel responded at approximately 12:47 a.m. to the 2000 block of Riverside Drive on the report of a single-vehicle crash.

Clark was driving a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer westbound on Riverside, west of Sidney Freyburg Road, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, according to the release.

The vehicle then traveled across the road and struck another guardrail. Clark was partially ejected in the second impact, according to the release.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ 3:27 a.m.

A woman is dead after crashing her car on Ohio 47 Sunday morning, according to deputies on the scene.

Deputies said the female driver was the only person in the car when she hit a guardrail on a turn.

Alcohol and speed are said to be factors in the crash and the woman was not wearing a seat belt, according to deputies.

A portion of Ohio 47 was closed earlier today while crews cleaned up the scene. Deputies said the road is now open to traffic.

The Shelby County Coroner has been called to the scene of a single-car crash on U.S. 47 in Sidney, according to dispatchers.

Dispatchers first received a call of a single-car crash in the 2000 block of Riverside Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
