Maxwell Harvey, who police identified as the driver, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. However, a hospital spokeswoman said a condition update is not available at this time.
Update@4:27 a.m.:
Crews reopened Nicholas Road just after 4 a.m. It had been shut down for more than three hours while crews repair the RTA pole that the vehicle struck.

A driver is hospitalized and a local road remains blocked after a vehicle struck a pole early Monday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the area of Nicholas Road and Stolz Avenue on a single-vehicle crash around 12:45 a.m., per initial reports. The impact of the crash caused heavy damage to the vehicle, as well as knocked the pole across the roadway.
Police say the driver was taken to an area hospital. The individual’s condition was not immediately known.
The passenger of the vehicle was given a field sobriety test by authorities, according to our crew on scene. It has not been confirmed if the wreck is being investigated as an OVI incident.
Nicholas Road at Stolz Avenue remains blocked with police tape.
