Driver arrested after van crashes into tree

A van was stuck in a tree Thursday night, but the driver was not hurt.

Crews were called around 8 p.m. to the 2600 block of Kennedy Avenue near Weng Avenue in Dayton.

An official from the Dayton Fire Department said the driver fled but later returned.

Aaron J. Ames, 34, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Montgomery County Jail for two traffic violations related to not having a valid driver’s license. He is due in court Friday.
