BELLEFONTAINE — A person died in a crash in Logan County on Thursday.

The crash was reported around 5:51 p.m. near the intersection of N. Madriver Street and E. Williams Avenue in Bellefontaine.

A 911 caller reported that a single vehicle went off the road and ran into a signpost and crosswalk signal post, according to Bellefontaine Police Chief Christopher Marlow.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identity has not been released at this time.
Marlow said that it appeared the driver suffered a medical emergency and may have died before the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
