DAYTON — A man arrested last month after the explosion of a homemade device for an unrelated crime no longer faces drug charges.
Jetarr Washington, 31, was among residents questioned by police after the blast April 8 between two dwellings in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.

Once they finished talking to him, officers then told Washington they would take him into custody for a misdemeanor warrant out of Huber Heights for obstructing official business, according to a Dayton police report.
That’s when Dayton police said Washington ran back inside his apartment, where police reported they spotted a mason jar half full of capsules of a yellowish power they suspected to be heroin. Police later reported counting 86 capsules in the jar, the report stated.

However, a Montgomery County grand jury on Thursday made its decision to not indict Washington on heroin possession charges, court records show.
