‘Dude just ran his car through the Clark,’ 911 callers describe chaos after gas station SUV attack

SIDNEY — A Sidney man is still in jail Monday after police said he intentionally drove an SUV into a gas station, seriously injuring a woman.

“He just drove the car up into the store.  Tore the whole door frame out and everything,” one 911 caller said. “Ran over some girl…They just took her to the hospital.”

Another 911 caller called police describing the chaos.

“Some dude just ran his car through the Clark,” the other caller said.

Marques White, 19, of Sidney, is charged with felonious assault after the attack. Police said White and the injured woman knew each other.

“They knew each other and had prior relationship issues,” Sidney Police Chief William Balling said. “It definitely got out of hand.”

Police ended up going to the Clark station at the corner of West Avenue and Court Street around 10:35 p.m. Thursday for what investigators described as a disturbance.

“After that turned physical out in the parking lot, the vehicle then backed up and then rammed in through the glass doors of the Clark gas station,” Balling said.

There were no other injuries reported, Balling said.

White drove off from the scene prior to police getting to the gas station, but he was eventually arrested a short time later.

White is still in the Shelby County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
