The Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory established statewide standards for the use of force, including deadly force, and agency recruitment and hiring.
The Eaton Police Department is among 491 other agencies that are now certified. Seventy-three are in the process of becoming certified, a media release stated.
Over 91 percent of all law enforcement officers in Ohio are employed by an agency that is involved in some form of the certification process.
