Man dies following two-vehicle crash in Shelby County

A person injured in a Shelby County crash earlier this month has died.

Dustin T. Adkins, 24, died April 1, the same night of the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

One person was ejected and taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital following a crash in Shelby County Monday evening.

A 2002 Dodge Intrepid was westbound on Mason Road and failed to stop at a stop sign on Mason Road around 6:54 p.m., according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. A 2011 Ford F-150 was southbound on Hardin Wapakoneta Road and crashed into the Dodge on the passenger side.

The Ford slid odd the southwest corner of the intersection and overturned before coming to a rest on its wheels.

The Dodge also slid off the southwest corner of the intersection, and while in spin, ejected the passenger. The driver was taken be medics to a local hospital and the passenger was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured. No one else was in the Ford.
