CASSTOWN, MIAMI COUNTY — Update@4:33 a.m.:
Miami County deputies at the scene of the crash on state Route 55 said the driver was the only person in the car when it crashed. That person was alert and called 911, deputies said.
The driver was transported by CareFlight to an area hospital; their condition is unknown at this time.
It’s not clear what caused the accident because deputies were not able to talk with the driver on the scene. But it appears that the car went off the road and landed deep in a treeline.
The front of the vehicle was badly damaged.
