During the 32-hour class, crews are being taught how to rappel, ascend and descent, do pick-offs and more which are all skills needed in rope rescue, the fire department stated in a Facebook post.
On day two of training, crews were given a scenario of someone who is stuck on a rope and had to “pick-off” the climber and lower them to safety, the Facebook post stated.
The Englewood Fire Department continues to provide updates and photos regarding the progress of the in-house collaborative training with Clayton, Englewood and Union.
