Fairborn City Schools welcomes students back with new intermediate building

FAIRBORN — Fairborn City Schools is undergoing some major changes to their facilities.

Some are already being used by staff and students, more are around the corner.

Tuesday, the school unveiled their new intermediate building.

Superintendent Gene Lolli said the next steps is a new high school on Commerce Boulevard. That’s projected to open up August 2024.

A new building also means new bell times to follow since construction took longer than expected.

“It was in the Spring last year... we kind of started figuring out we’re not going to get in on time. So in communication with the construction company we thought it would be best that we back the school year up a little bit,” Lolli said.

In addition to the new buildings, sports fields and a new stadium will also be added next to the high school.

Funding for all projects is made possible from the Ohio Facility Construction Committee, an anonymous donation from a Fairborn alumni and support from members in the community.
