FAIRBORN — Fairborn Superintendent Gene Lolli will be taking a leave of absence from the district beginning February 16.

Lolli is expected to be off for four to six weeks “due to surgery for kidney cancer,” according to district officials.
“My hope is to have a successful surgery and to be back to work soon and I know that the district will be in good hands,” Lolli said in a statement.

During his absence, Amy Gayheart, director of classified personnel and educational services, will serve as Acting Superintendent.
