Fairborn to swear in new police chief Friday

FAIRBORN — Fairborn will be swearing in their newest police chief Friday morning.

Captain Ben Roman will be sworn in as chief by City Manager Rob Anderson Friday at 9 a.m.

Roman has been a police officer with the city since May 2004, according to a media release.

In 2011 he was assigned to the Greene County ACE Task Force as a detective where he handled most drug investigations.

He was promoted to sergeant in 2016 and captain in 2020.

Former Fairborn police chief Terry Bennington retired after over 34 years in the force in April.
