RICHMOND — Friday night, fallen Richmond Officer Seara Burton’s alma mater honored her on the court.
Northeastern High School girl’s basketball team presented a shadowbox with Burton’s previously worn #22 jersey, according to Richmond Police Department on social media.
On Aug. 10 Richmond K-9 Officer Burton was shot in the head while responding to a traffic stop.
She died from her injuries five weeks later on Sept. 18.
The community has shown their support for Burton as she fought for her life and has continued to show up after her passing.
Last month Burton’s name was permanently added to the Richmond Fire and Police monument.
