HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — A family of four will be unable to stay at their home after it caught fire on Esmeralda Avenue in Harrison Twp. this afternoon.
Firefighters responded just before 4 p.m. to the 2200 block of Esmeralda and found smoke coming from the home when they got there.
The American Red Cross has been called to assist the family since they didn’t have any homeowners’ insurance.
A cause of the fire has not been determined, however the family was using space heaters to heat the residence, so fire investigators are checking to see if that played any role in the fire.
