DAYTON — Family members of a woman killed during a double homicide Monday night are asking for help to find the suspect.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5, as previously reported, police found 24-year-old Antwan McCarthron and 29-year-old De’Ja Powers shot in an apartment off West Stewart Street.
Powers was pronounced dead at the scene.
McCathron Jr was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Troya Powers is De’Ja’s cousin and grew up with her Dayton.

She found out about De’Ja’s death after watching News Center 7′s report.
She is devastated that De’Ja’s son is left without a mother.
“We just had a feeling it was De’ja because our brother passed away in the same location a couple of years ago,” Troya said.
Dayton police said they have identified two suspects, but they are not in custody.
Powers’ family believes someone in the community knows who did it.
“If you know anything, anything about these two tragic deaths, please then call your Dayton police department and inform them,” Troya said.
De’Ja’s son has been taken in by family.
“Cheek to cheek, she had the most beautiful smile, she didn’t try to, she didn’t complain about anything,” Troya said.
