A Cincinnati-area man previously convicted on child porn in Centerville is now facing new federal charges in connection to thousands of child porn images and videos the FBI said it found on his cell phone and on social media accounts, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court

Scott W. Reed, 27, of Colerain Twp., was previously convicted in Montgomery County in 2019 on 8 counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for those crimes.

The new federal charges include counts of coercion and enticement, transfer of obscene materials to minors, receipt of child porn and possession of child pornography, court records show. The federal case had been sent to a grand jury to consider for an indictment.

Online records show there has not been an indictment as of Monday, however, last week federal prosecutors filed a bill of information that included three counts of receipt of child pornography. A plea hearing is scheduled for March 1, online court records read.

When authorities were able to unlock Reed’s cell phone after the previous case in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court had concluded, they found more child pornography that hadn’t been included as part of the original case, according to the federal complaint.

“Over three thousand image files and over one thousand video filed were recovered from the telephone depicting child pornography,” FBI agents wrote in court filings. “The child pornography files included images and videos depicting pre-pubescent minors, infants and toddlers.”

Other types of child porn also were recovered, according to the filings.

The FBI said Reed utilized his “memedaddy45″ Snapchat account to coerce and entice minors, including at least one from Montgomery County, to produce child porn. Agents also said he used the same Snapchat account to transfer obscene material to minors.

Reed also had an account of the social media app Kik, where agents said he used an account with the name “15yearsyoung22″ to receive child porn, the FBI said.

Reed is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail while he awaits his next court hearing.
