ALABAMA — An FBI SWAT team shot and killed an Ohio man in Alabama while agents were trying to serve a warrant on Friday, according to our CBS affiliate WOIO-19.

Alexander Randles, of Akron, was killed in the shooting on Colonial Parkway in Gulf Shores.

According to the FBI, Randles was allegedly armed when the shooting occurred.
It is unclear if Randles fired any shots at agents before his death.
WOIO-19 reports that Randles owned a car repair shop in Akron. It closed last year after he claimed a domestic terrorist group attacked his company.
Randles was facing interstate transmission of a threat to kidnap or injure charges.
A criminal complaint indicates that Randles’ tried to perform a citizens’ arrest of a doctor in January.
WOIO-19 reports that Randles said the doctor falsified medical documents to hide a deadly disease a domestic terrorist group allegedly infected him with.
Randles was armed with a pistol and handcuffs at the time of the citizen’s arrest, according to the criminal complaint. He also reportedly had a rifle in his car trunk.
He stopped the citizens’ arrest and left once the police arrived.
The criminal complaint shows that Randles called for an “unorganized militia” and created a manifesto that discussed “the arrest of insurrected government officials.”
The Stark County prosecutor was listed in the manifesto, according to WOIO-19.
The shooting is under investigation by the FBI’s inspection division.
