SIDNEY — A female inmate was able to briefly escape custody before police captured her near Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, dispatchers confirmed.

A deputy reported the woman was running away from her on Michigan Street near the hospital around 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to emergency scanner traffic.
