Crews will be renovating the entire Rosewood Arts Center’s theater space and there will be updates to the theater itself, pending approval by Kettering City Council and the success of additional fundraising efforts.
It is the final phase of a $5 million project.
Changes include studios for ceramic, glass, metals, and dance. It includes a public meeting room and classroom.
There will be updates to the theater itself.
“They’re going to update the lighting and the sound systems,” said Mary Snapp, Director of Kettering Children’s Theater. “Just giving the theater what it’s been wanting for the past 30 years.”
The city hopes to have everything done by next spring.
The theater has provided performance instruction and classes for more than 1,000 young actors in a former elementary school gymnasium since 1985.
