Fire burns 2-story residential house in Dayton

DAYTON — A two-story residential structure was fully engulfed in flames Friday overnight.

Dayton Fire were dispatched to the 600 block of Edison Street at 2:32 a.m. on reports of a structure fire, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered that a two-story residential structure was “fully engulfed” in flames with an exposure coming from the side of the home, dispatch confirmed.

Firefighters reported that the structure was fully vacant.

To extinguish the fire, emergency responders added an aerial attack to douse the flames, crews said over scanners.

The Dayton Fire Department led the investigation into the fire. The American Red Cross and AES Ohio reportedly assisted at the scene with providing humanitarian assistance and cutting off the electricity to the burning structure.
