People believed to be living in Trotwood vacant structure before fire

TROTWOOD — UPDATE @ 2:13 a.m.:

Firefighters said that they believed people had been living in a vacant commercial structure in the 5400 block of West Third Street in Trotwood before it caught fire.

Firefighters said that it was unclear how long they had been there, but crews found sleeping bags and other supplies.

Fire crews also confirmed that the building had been vacant for a while, and it had no electricity or other active utilities.

They said that they would likely wrap up their investigation and reopen the road in about an hour.

Fire crews are responding to a report of a fire in a structure in the 5400 block of West Third Street in Trotwood.
