Fire destroys car on I-75 S at U.S. 35 in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 10:10 p.m.:

The east and west ramps from Interstate 75 to U.S. 35 are now open.

FIRST REPORT

A fire destroyed a car tonight on Interstate 75, which was briefly shut down as crews responded.

The car fire was reported around 9:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near U.S. 35 in Dayton.

The east and west ramps from I-75 to U.S. 35 were closed, and I-75 was down to one lane once the fire was extinguished.

By 10 p.m., Dayton fire crews were waiting on a wrecker to tow the burnt car.

There were no injuries, and the incident remains under investigation.
