Greenville Fire Chief Russ Thompson said they arrived to find smoke coming from the second story of the home when they got there.

The upstairs unit of the duplex had fire inside and crews were able to knock it down.

There was a resident in the downstairs unit of the duplex, who was able to be evacuated by a Greenville police officer, Thompson said.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical issue, Thompson said.
