SPRINGFIELD TWP., Clark County — The cause of what started a house fire that destroyed a Springfield Twp. home on East National Road is still under investigation, according to Springfield Twp. Deputy Fire Chief Jamie Allen.
When firefighters got to the house around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday near Titus Road the house was already heavily involved in fire.

Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs from house and resuscitate them, Allen said.
More than $175,000 in damage was caused by the fire and the house is considered a total loss, the Deputy Chief said.
Firefighters were unable to use their ladder truck to battle the flames due to trees around the home, which made for a challenging fire fight, Allen said. Crews also had to truck in water due to no fire hydrants near the house.
The fire started in the area of the garage.
