BELLEFONTAINE, Logan County — Firefighters rescued a cat from a car engine compartment in Bellefontaine last week.

The Bellefontaine Fire Department posted to social media saying “B” shift crews took a service call about a cat trapped in an engine compartment on Jan. 2.

Fire crews responded to the area and were able to free the cat.
The cat was reunited with other cats in the area.
The department wants to remind people that as temperatures get cold, animals will look for a place to get warm and vehicles are one of the more common places they go.
