Dayton firefighters were dispatched around 5:30 a.m. to the Legacy Pancake House at the 1500 block of N. Keowee Street.

“So when we got here, there were already flames,” said David Grubb, Dayton Fire Chief. “We have good water in these areas that we had no problem with it.”

Fire officials say the business is a total loss.

Keowee Street was closed for hours between Stanley Avenue and Leo Street. People are asked to avoid the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
