Detached garage destroyed in Clayton fire

CLAYTON — Firefighters are looking into what caused a detached garage to catch fire in Clayton Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported in the 7900 block of Melody Road in Clayton.

Our crew on scene reported seeing firefighters tend to a detached garage destroyed by fire.

Photos from the scene show that a second detached garage also sustained some damage from the fire. Fire officials on scene said there was smoke damage to the second detached garage, as well as the main house.

No injuries were reported.

A firefighter on scene told our crew that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
