WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A local firefighter department shared its “awkward family photos” while reminding the community how to prevent fire hazards this holiday season.

The Washington Township Fire Department posted the photos featuring Station 45 crews on Wednesday.

“We can’t help you avoid awkward family photos this holiday season. But we can help you prevent fire hazards in your home,” the department said in a post.
The fire department shared the following fire prevention tips:
- Never leave candles unattended. Consider changing them out for flameless candles
- Keep your decorations, including the Christmas tree, away from candles, fireplaces and space heaters
- Keep an eye out while cooking holiday treats
- Avoid overloading electrical outlets
“Keep the holidays memorable and awkward, one family photo at a time,” the department said.
