The residents, said to be a husband and wife, were home when the fire started, Jefferson Twp. Fire Battalion Chief Chad McInturff said, and they were able to escape without injury.

The house, in the 5800 block, "will most likely be a total loss," McInturff said.

There is no indication the fire was suspicious, he said.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are on the scene of a structure fire in the 5800 block of Germantown Pike where we're hearing that flames are through the roof.

We're also hearing that crews are taking a defensive posture in dealing with the fire, which means firefighters likely will not be entering the structure, just south of Dayton Farmersville Road.
