SPRINGFIELD — A former Springfield High School linebacker was arrested Thursday morning by U.S. Marshals and is being held in the Clark County Jail.
Trey DePriest, 28, was wanted for armed robbery, assault and felonious assault in a case that stemmed out of Detroit, according to online court records. He was arrested in the 300 block of South Belmont Avenue, according to the U.S. Marshals.
According to Detroit police, the agency investigated a robbery at a hotel in the 3200 block of East Jefferson Street.
“Once inside the hotel room the suspects attempted to rob the victim. One of the two suspects fired a shot, striking the victim,” a statement from the police department read.
DePriest’s charges had been filed back on Nov. 11. Police are still looking for Adrian Chilton, 30, who also is wanted for the same incident.

The Springfield High School graduate was an All-American high school prospect in the fall of 2010, when he signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide for his collegiate career. He played for the Crimson Tide as the team won multiple national championships
DePriest grew up in Springfield.
DePriest played briefly as an undrafted player for the Baltimore Ravens, but was ultimately cut by the team, according to ESPN.
The 27-year-old victim from the shooting and robbery ended up taking himself to the hospital and has since been released, Detroit police said.
