LINCOLN, NE — The University of Dayton Volleyball team’s historic run in the NCAA Tournament ended.

Dayton lost to Nebraska in the Lincoln Regional Semifinals in four sets (17-25, 18-25, 27-25, and 13-25).
It was the first time in program history that UD made it this far in the NCAA Tournament.

The Flyers lost the first two sets and rallied to win the third. They trailed 25-24 but Lexie Almodovar had two straight kills to put them up, 26-25. Dayton won set point to take the third set.
The Cornhuskers scored six straight points in the fourth set to go up, 10-4.
Nebraska led 11-7 but scored 10 of the next 11 points to extend it to 21-8. They never looked back.
Dayton ends the season with a 31-3 record.
“Fought to the finish. Way to show the volleyball world what Dayton Volleyball is all about,” they said on social media.
The Cornhuskers will play in the Lincoln Regional Finals against Wisconsin on Sunday.
