NEW DETAILS: 4 teens on way to prom hospitalized after Butler County crash

MONROE — UPDATE @11:29 a.m.: A 17-year-old student suffered life-threatening injuries when she was ejected from a car on her way to the Monroe High School prom Friday night.

The teen was seated in the rear seat when the car went off Millikin Road at around 7:30 p.m. and flipped, according to Lt. Morgan Dallman, commander of the Liberty Twp. post of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. She was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center after the crash.

Another 17-year-old student was driving the car when Dallman said she veered off the right side of the road in the eastbound lane, over-corrected and went off the left side of the road.

An 18-year-old male who was in the front passenger seat was trapped and had to be extricated. Another 17-year old male was also hurt in the accident. All three of those students were taken by ambulance to West Chester Hospital.

Dallman said speed was definitely a factor in the crash, but at this time investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

“It appears speed was a factor, as far as alcohol and drugs, it’s still under investigation, but do not believe it was a factor,” he said. “But we still have to rule that out.”

Dallman said he does not know the condition of the students today.

“Hopefully everybody pulls through,” he said.
