“My aunt and uncle have been taking me and my cousins here since we were just little ones,” customer Derek Hughes said. “You can’t go wrong with a big boy. But if you’re going breakfast bar, I like the sausage and potatoes and a little bit of sausage gravy on top.”
This is the last day for Hughes to enjoy those classics in the location he knows.
Lawsuits claim the restaurants have failed to pay more than $4 million in rent for their location’s buildings.
One by one, local Frisch’s are closing their doors and their employees are out of a job.
“It’s really sad that this is the kind of timing they chose. They could have at least waited until after the New Years,” Hughes said.
For Hughes, and many locals, the memories will remain.
“My son, every time we come here, he goes up to the big boy and he makes a pose. And I probably have like 40 pictures of him doing the exact same pose all the time. So that’s something I’m always gonna remember,” Hughes said.
Last week, the Frisch’s on Colonel Glenn in Fairborn and the location in Butler Township closed.
Next Friday, the Frisch’s on Weller Drive in Tipp City is permanently closing.
Since October, nearly two dozen Frisch’s have shuttered, that’s about half of the local locations.
