Springfield Township requested mutual aid from Hustead Township to fight a “fully involved,” single-story house fire on the 300 block of Lyle Avenue at around 4:40 a.m., Clark County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

Initial reports from crews at the scene stated that the wind was blowing flames to neighboring buildings, according to traffic on emergency scanners.

Responders were able to put out the fire before it caused significant damage to the neighboring homes, footage captured by News Center 7 Reporter Xavier Hershovitz showed.

While putting out the fire, firefighters sprayed water onto the tree beside the burning home, which froze over because of the sub-zero temperatures, Hershkovitz reported.

Occupants were able to safely exit their home during the house fire, dispatch said.

Medics were called to the scene to tend to the evacuated occupants.
