Fundraiser supporting local homeless community returning to Greene County today

BEAVERCREEK — After two years of being postponed, a local group is gearing up to raise money in support of local homeless families.

Family Promise of Greene County’s Empty Bowl Dinner and Silent Auction is set to return today at Hillside Chapel in Beavercreek. It will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For $25, those who attend can get a dinner including the choice soup, bread, homemade dessert and a beverage with a handmade bowl for each quest to take home. Children under the age of five eat for free.

The silent auction will feature gift baskets and experiences.

Money raised at the event will help local children and their parents who are currently receiving, or will receive, assistance from Family Promise of Greene County.

“We hope you’ll come enjoy an evening of fun, food, and camaraderie,” Sue Mortsolf, FPGC board member and event organizer, said. “You’re also invited to join in on the bidding of our silent auction items to help raise funds for our local Family Promise – Because Every Child Deserves A Home!”
